WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — The public is invited to attend a holiday tree lighting on Friday, November 25 in Riverfront Park. The event is presented by City of Wilmington’s Recreation & Downtown Services Division and the Downtown Business Alliance (DBA).
Holiday entertainment will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by the lighting of the tree at approximately 6:25 p.m. Carolers provided by the Thalian Association will stroll the streets to spread holiday cheer. The Roger Davis Jazz Band will also be on hand to perform duets from their holiday CD and to play background music for carolers. Riverfront Park vendors will be selling arts and crafts. The Battleship North Carolina will be lit up simultaneously with the lighting of the downtown tree.
Santa will arrive shortly thereafter and will be available for children to visit with him at no cost. Families are encouraged to bring their cameras for photo opportunity with Santa.
